Richard W. Osama bin Laden & Co. gave us a very painful reinforcement of that lesson on September 11: 9/11.

The Problem
I took a CPR course many years ago, and the instructor showed us how to find the correct hand position for the chest compressions. "Make a fist," the instructor said. A nearby man--- obviously well-educated and upper class--- asked, "How do you make a fist?" That is the problem. It was, until fairly recently, taken almost for granted that any adult American male would know how to make (and use) a fist. Two hundred years ago, it was also taken for granted that he would also know how to use a sword or a firearm (if he was a member of the upper classes, i.e. a gentleman).

They taught us to be passive. They taught us, "Don't fight back." They taught us, "Call 911 and let the authorities handle it."

Five thugs with boxcutters should have stood no chance against the number of able-bodied men (plus athletic women) on these airplanes. There is no guarantee that fighting back would have saved the passengers (it didn't save Flight 93, although it may have saved people on the ground), but any chance was better than no chance. Thanks to the sickening and toxic indoctrination that the Left has fed us,  the passengers and crews of the other three flights had no chance at all. There are, unfortunately, many prominent Americans and American organizations--- American only in terms of citizenship and place of residence, not attitudes or values--- who don't think men (or women) should know how to make and use fists. They don't think Americans of either gender should possess or learn to use firearms. They want all of us to be sheep who expect the shepherds (police) to protect us from the wolves. We saw where that got us on 9/11/2001.
