"What are you fighting for?"

The page is formatted so it will fit on a single 8.5 by 11 inch sheet. It may be photocopied, folded in thirds, taped to form a letter-sized piece, and mailed to anyone whom you think it would interest- and they are encouraged to similarly copy and distribute it.

And it's one, two, three, /  What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn, /  Next stop is Vietnam.
-Country Joe and the Fish, I Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die
Lyndon B. Johnson sacrificed 57,000 American lives in Vietnam (by not fighting to win, or staying out entirely) to promote his own political career. Some people might classify that as treason. The leaders of the antigun movement want money, votes, power, publicity, and speaking honoraria. If you're giving them these things, do you know why?

Gun Control Supporters: What are you fighting for?
Are you fighting for the privilege of the limousine liberals, the wealthy elite, the lords of the manor, to own and carry firearms while they enact gun control laws for "the little people?"

Are you fighting for the privilege of states and municipalities to disarm you and then refuse to protect you from violence? Our side believes that, if you're a law-abiding citizen, you have a right to own a firearm to protect your life and the lives of your family members. Even if you choose not to own a firearm, the presence of armed citizens in your neighborhood makes you safer; the violent criminal doesn't know who is armed. We do not believe that a Senator's or Congressman's life is more important than yours, and we do not believe that state or local governments have any right to disarm you and then refuse to protect you. Please think about why you're fighting. Then think about whether the side you're on is on your side.
