Mario Biaggi, who is still quoted by Handgun Control Inc., said that only police officers should have guns.

Although he was a Congressman and no longer a police officer, Mario Biaggi owned (legally) two handguns; he had to surrender them after his felony conviction in the Wedtech scandal. (Rudolph Guliani was apparently the prosecutor).

It's evident that, when Rep. Biaggi said civilians should not have firearms, he meant common citizens, not influential and important politicians like himself- or fellow antigunners Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) who has a concealed-carry permit in California, Ted Kennedy (D-MA), whose bodyguard was detained for carrying a machine pistol into the Capitol, or their other elitist friends. The royalty, the lords and ladies of the manor, the wealthy liberal elite aristocracy, are important and should have firearms for self-protection, and to hell with the peasants. It is very difficult to get a handgun permit in New York City: Biaggi's power and influence as a member of the "royalty" was doubtlessly helpful.

Mario Biaggi: Now he's just one more felon who doesn't think law-abiding citizens should own handguns.

"I'm Handgun Control International"

Handgun Control International symbolizes domestic and international efforts (e.g. United Nations) to restrict firearm ownership by law-abiding American citizens. It is not affiliated with Handgun Control Inc., although their agendas are very similar.
