Will strict gun control laws save Sarah from
Sarah had been afraid of the serial killer, and she had tried to buy a gun for self-protection only three days ago. However, she lived in California, which has a two-week waiting period for gun purchases. The waiting period's purpose is (1) to prevent crimes of passion and (2) deter criminals from buying guns. This fits well with Handgun Control Incorporated's goal of "keeping guns out of the wrong hands." The serial killer didn't have a gun. Maybe the gun law deterred him from trying to buy one, but he could have probably bought one from another criminal, or stolen one. It didn't matter, though, because he had a knife and he was much stronger than Sarah. The Serial Killer?
The police arrived fifteen minutes later. The two officers saw the broken door and rushed into Sarah's apartment with their guns drawn, but the perpetrator had already finished his work and escaped. Sarah's savagely mutilated body lay on her bed, and the sheets were stained crimson with her blood. "Call an ambulance!" Sergeant Moran shouted.
"I'm on it!" His partner grabbed the phone as the sergeant tried to control Sarah's bleeding. They heard sirens outside as other squad cars searched for the perpetrator.
"I didn't see his face," Sarah managed to gasp. "He- raped me, and then he used his knife..."
"We're getting you help, Ma'am. Try to relax."
"I feel very cold."
Sergeant Moran knew this was a sign of shock, and he did his best to control it. Sarah had lost too much blood, though, and too many of her internal organs had been perforated. She died in Sergeant Moran's arms five minutes later. He knew that blood was considered "hazardous," and he had donned gloves before giving Sarah first aid, but her blood covered a good part of his blue uniform. He didn't care; although the law (according to several court rulings throughout the country) doesn't require police to protect individual citizens, he believed his job was to protect people like Sarah, but he couldn't be everywhere at once. The serial killer had again left his DNA "calling card," but there was little else to work with. Another clue came in that day; a suspicious figure who was about the serial killer's height had been seen casing the home of Senator Dianne Feinstein, one of the nation's foremost gun control supporters. There were no signs, however, that he had tried to attack the Senator. Maybe he knew that Ms. Feinstein's influence and political clout helped her get a permit to carry a concealed handgun. The wealthy and influential Senator can protect herself, for her life and safety are important. Ordinary people like Sarah don't matter.
Sorry: your decision got our heroine killed. It doesn't matter too much, because this is only a story, but consider this. Limousine liberals like Dianne Feinstein, Charles Schumer, and Ted Kennedy are passing legislation that gets real people killed. They want you to believe that their gun control laws are making the country safer for you and for "the children," but they're really making it safer for people like The Serial Killer. The Kennedys, Feinsteins, and so on have armed bodyguards, or they use their power and influence to get pistol permits. Since they're the lords of the manor, the nobility, the upper class liberal elite, the aristocracy, their lives are (by their standards) more important and worthy of protection than yours.

Sarah: an innocent, productive citizen murdered by The Serial Killer, with California's gun control laws as his accomplice. Here are some possible private thoughts and comments by prominent gun control supporters about this story:
Bill and Hillary Clinton: have round-the clock protection by the Secret Service (and previously by the Arkansas State Police)
Hillary: "It won't interfere with my New York carpetbagging, so who cares?"
Bill: "Too bad, she was sort of cute. She might have made a good intern."Ted Kennedy (D-MA) has armed bodyguards. One of his guards tried to bring a machine pistol into the Capitol many years ago.
Ted says: "I'm glad she didn't die in my car!"
Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). Has a permit to carry a concealed pistol in California.
Di Fi: "I hope she wasn't a Democrat."Charles Schumer (D-NY): "I suppose that's part of the price we have to pay to achieve a gun-free society." Richard Daley Jr. (D-IL, Mayor of Chicago, wants to sue gun manufacturers for violence in his city): "If you bury her in my city, she might become a Democrat!"
